Takaka

Takaka is the main hub of Golden Bay. It is a small town with strong hippy culture and an alternative vibe, which gives it a lot more character than the average New Zealand town. There are lots of art and craft shops, but not much in the way of attractions. The main reasons travellers come here are to work on farms and to travel north to Farewell Spit.
