Queenstown Airport (ZQN) is New Zealand’s fourth-busiest airport. It is located in Frankton, around 8km outside Queenstown’s town centre.
Air New Zealand has direct flights to Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington as well as international services to Melbourne and Sydney; Jetstar has domestic flights to Auckland and Wellington and international flights to Gold Coast, Melbourne and Sydney; Qantas fly to Sydney and Virgin Australia fly to Brisbane and Sydney.
The airport is easily accessible by local bus (route 1) which runs every 15 minutes 6am–7pm and every half hour outside these times. The cash fare is $10, but the bus fare is only $2 if you buy a GoCard (for $5, plus a minimum $10 top-up).

It’s a small airport. So drop your luggage after check in. Head to the mall opposite airport for some food. Then back here to the departure. Nothing much inside this airport

Very busy little airport. Free Wifi. A newly opened lounge for departing Virgin and Qantas passangers. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Don't arrive early. This airport doesn't let you go through security until 90 min prior to departure, which means that you can use lounge for 10-15 min.Also, there is only 4 power plugs by rest rooms

Allow extra travel time as the security screen takes very long - poor queue control, and unexpected/unnecessary extra security clearance, even if you have kids. Such a bad experience ending holiday.

Our flight got canceled so we had to stay and sleep at the airport for the night. Free wifi allowed to stream Netflix on our phones, that was pretty sweet.

There's friggen mountains viewable on the tarmac. Free wifi but the connection is temperamental. Can't buy Telecom XT sims here. Connectabus is now $8
