It takes some time to reach this place by foot if you live in the center but it's worth seeing.

Beautiful place to stroll around. Take the cable car up (one way!) and then walk all the way down to the city and check the Beehive building on the way.

The rose garden is separate (important detail for first time visitors). Take the cable car up and then walk back down to the city center for the best experience.

One of my favorite spots in Wellington. I love taking the cable car up there. However, I don't think it's the nicest botanical garden that I've been to in NZ. Flower/rose garden is a bit disappointing

Since it could rain anytime in Wellington. Time it right by saving the Te Papa museum for the rainy days and this beautiful park for the sunny ones :)
